How we use Sources

Sudbury Monitor publishes records-based summaries and analysis concerning local government, school governance, and public spending in Sudbury, Massachusetts.

Articles are based where possible on primary source materials, including public records, meeting agendas and minutes, public meeting videos, legal filings, contracts, invoices, and official correspondence. When practical, Sudbury Monitor links to or posts the underlying records so readers can review them directly.

Sudbury Monitor distinguishes between source documents, factual summaries, and analysis. Public records can show what was written, billed, voted on, filed, or discussed in public. They do not always show motive, private communications, privileged legal advice, or facts outside the records themselves.

Sudbury Monitor may publish under a pseudonym. The use of a pseudonym is intended to keep the focus on the records and analysis rather than the author. It does not change the site’s commitment to accuracy, source transparency, and correction of errors.

Readers who believe an article contains an error are encouraged to contact Sudbury Monitor with the specific issue and any supporting source materials. Corrections or clarifications will be made where appropriate.
